Introduction

Environmental engineering is an academic field focused on the welfare of human life of which that can be influenced by environmental factors. This includes the treatment of various environmental issues through scientific, engineering and social solutions. The issues are mainly categorized and treated by fields such as air, water and solid wastes.

In Chungnam National University, we plan to tackle these issues through state-of-the-art and interdisciplinary research. Various examples are efforts to integrate Artificial Intelligence, information technology, and Big Data into the field, making it capable to identify and solve emerging issues in the field.

Our goal is to contribute to society through developing a more sustainable future in various research fields, including water and wastewater treatment, water resource management, atmospheric regeneration and solid waste recycling.

Career Opportunities

After receiving an B.S. degree, the graduates of the department can continue their studies in the graduate school, or go on to successful careers in a variety of areas, both public and private, related to the planning, design, construction, and operation of buildings as architectural, structural, and facility engineers. They also may find a position at research institutes or government-operated businesses. They can acquire professional certificates for architectural engineers, technical professionals, patent agents, and architectural consultants.
