INTRODUCTION
Department of Energy Engineering
We need to create a prosperous humanity and a wealthy nation by continuously securing energy, responding to climate change, and realizing carbon neutrality. Such sustainability can be achieved by securing cutting-edge technologies in the fields of energy efficiency improvement, new and renewable energies, and clean fossil energy, while also realizing energy convergence technologies, IT artificial intelligence(AI)-based energy, and sector coupling.
The Department of Energy Engineering at Chungnam National University studies and explores fundamental knowledge which related to the aforementioned energy science and technologies. We educate state-of-art skills through both specialized knowledge and research experiments in cutting-edge technologies: next-generation batteries (secondary batteries, fuel cells), energy harvesting (solar power), and green fuels (hydrogen, ammonia, biofuel).
Ultimately, we aim to educate a creative talent who will lead the energy sector, and contribute to the sustainable national development and the human prosperity by teaching basic knowledge and core engineering skills.

After receiving a bachelor's degree, students work at major energy companies and public corporations in areas such as energy storage, energy harvesting, and green fuel, or open a venture(start-up) company to lead the energy industry. In addition, after graduating from graduate school with a master's or doctoral degree, you can get a job as a high-ranking government official or a researcher at a public enterprise/quasi-governmental organization/funded research institute/corporate research institute, leading the research and development of advanced energy technology and the establishment of national energy policy. In other words, you will become a talented person to lead our country's energy sector.
